I have a new Home with solid bamboo hardwood throughout the flooring is nailed onto 3/4 advantech with the subfloor being stick built with 2x10x10 joists nailed to (2) nailed together 2x10 for a girder on a pier no ledger middle section 2x10x12 connected to 2x10 girder on pier last section 2x10x12 to sill plate. well here is the problem the advantech which is 4x8 hits right on the seam for the girders 4x3 = 12 feet then hits right on the seam again on the second set of piers 4x3 - 12 feet Well either the boards shrunk or the house shifted because one day as my wife and I were working in the kitchen we heard sort of a pop soung and then from then on a gap has formed the full length of the house on both of the seams above the girders the girders seem to have seperated possible 1/8 to 1/2 inch in places it seams to me. The builder has since put in joist hangers I was upset that he didn't in the first place and then he tried messing around with the shims under the girders all that did was mess up the walls and the he drilled 5/8 holes and used bolts with washers every other joist using An impact to try to pull back the gap Nope it did not fix it I tried telling him That there is a lot of weight on the house that would probably not fix it. Now here is the ?? Has anyone ever seen this and how can this be fixed . Believe me this is not my only issue that has not been fixed with this builder but it is the most prevelant PLEASE HELP ALL OF THE EXPERTS UNITE I really need some good advice E-mail me if you need futher info pics or with advice burgess_9@bellsouth.net
