Heating a slate floor mudroom

11/29/2002 12:17 PM dean

hi, I am trying to heat a 12x9 mudroom that is tiled with slate flooring over a slab of concrete, sliding glass door and 2 windows. There is no heat source now. The floor and room gets very cold and I am trying to convert this area into a breakfast nook. When I leave the inside door to the room open, the temp gets to about 62 with still a very cold floor. I had several people give me opinions: add a heating duct, add a ventless fireplace, add heated tiles plus a heat source, use linoleum to warm up the floor. I am trying to get the room to about 70 degrees but am not sure what will work with so many opinions. Any opinions on Bobvilla.com?
