Ok,
Just installed a new ceiling fan in one room and a ceiling light in another room. Both lights basically stay on when I turn the breaker back on. The wall switch does nothing.
So I opened up the wall switch and this is what I have:
-a single pole switch
-1x red wire
-1x black wire
-3x white wires twisted up and not used.
Now before I touched anything the red and black wires were the only ones connected to the switch. The 3 twisted up white wires were not used.
What do I need to do to enable switching the light on and off from the switch.
THANK YOU |

At the light connect the fixture to the white and red wires.
Put the switch back on the red and black wires. |
