Home Inspector

One very important thing to remember when hiring a home inspector is to ask if he/she is certified. Some states do not require certification (or did not at some time in the past and some of the inspectors may have gotten their license before certification was required).

ASHI is one of the most respected home inspector associations in the USA. Any home inspector that is certified by ASHI should be well qualified to do your home inspection.

Here in North Carolina, state officials worked with ASHI to create the certification test now used to certify all new home inspectors before they are licensed. Inspectors that were licensed before the certification test was adopted are still doing inspections, but if they where not qualified, any complaints received from their clients would have been investigated by the licensing board and their license suspended or even revoked.
