My fairly small, end-unit townhouse has an enormous difference in temperature. The floor of the attic is well insulated. I have HVAC service twice a year, which is supposed to include adjusting "baffles." (I confess ignorance here and realize the solution could be this.) I've tried partially closing the floor vents on the ground level, thinking more cold air would be forced upstairs.

I recently installed a 52" ceiling fan at the top of the staircase, hoping it would help. Regardless of how it turns, it doesn't do the trick.

I'm guessing that your end-unit-wall is Easterly, or even worse faced West. This would make a tremendous difference in the heat that you would experience versus the heat that one of your more fortunate neighbors would experience.

Is there something that you could plant on that side of the wall?? It may be VERY cost effective to plant something that would climb wires up the wall, or a tree. More insulation of the wall??
