House moving

11/23/2001 04:10 PM Darlene

I live in a house built in 1910 my survey shows me fourteen feet on town property, so we can not extend home. We are looking into moving it to the middle of our property. We have a budget of seventy five thousand dollars and based on estimates it does not seem to be enough. Not sure where to turn for good info. HOuse is 1100sq feet, We are really desperate as it is only two small bedrooms and we have two children. If it does not get moved it is worthless. I would like info also on how the projects for your show are picked. We would love to be it. Please contact me at my email Thank you so much

House moving

Hi Darlene,

Why are you saying that $75,000 isn't enough? I guess it all depends on what needs to be done and where you live, and so on. $75,000 should do an AWFUL lot for you. Maybe you now have a basement and you still want one (vs. just moving onto a slab.) Maybe the existing house is a high insurance risk. Just keep getting bids and go from there.

My best to ya and hope this helps.
