What law was enacted in 1972 that has something to do with lead and asbestos in housing construction?

I have a house that’s about 60 years of age, is built of stucco both inside and out. Am wondering what part of the house could contain either contain lead or asbestos in its construction.

The stucco walls are painted but with no flocking or some such surfact treatment. It's a rather plain house in construction, no insulation on the pipes.

One concern though is the insulation which was put into the attic and just learned that the most common material used is fibreglass with cellulose.

The only thing I recall about the 70s and asbestos was that the CPSC (consumer products safety commission) attempted to ban the use of it in certain building products. Later, in the 90s, the EPA came out with their Ban and Phaseout Rule which continued the attempt. It was later overturned by the courts because it overstepped their authority. Though this may be interesting trivia I don't think it really has much practical application to buildings. I've found all forms of asbestos in buildings built even into the early 80s. If you are concerned, the only thing you can do is get it tested. There are home test kits available and, of course, you can hire an asbestos inspector to do it also.
