Hydronic Electric baseboard vs electric baseboard? |

Can anyone tell me the advantages of the Hydronic electric baseboard vs the reg electric baseboard? I noticed the cost for the hydronic is 2-3 times that of the regular electic baseboard. I have a 250 sq. foot room that I need to heat and can't decide which is better.

They both have the same efficency.
They "hydronic" version MIGHT be a little "smoother" in that it will warm up slower and release heat later after the thermostat shuts off.
And the surface "might" not get as hot.
But those depend on the design of the particular units and not the generic different between "reg" and "hydronic" electric heaters.

Stains on Walls from Elec. Baseboard Heaters |

We had a problem with stains on our walls above our 10 yr. old electric baseboard heaters. It seems that this problem would not occur with hydronic baseboard heaters because of the sealed frame, so the heater elements are not exposed to air. Is that a correct assumption?
Thanks,

The streaks won't occur as rapidly because the surface heat is lower from the sealed unit and that doesn't cause as rapid convection over the heater to pick up dirt in the air to spread it on the wall. The lower the surface temperature the less the movement.

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made. |
