Indoor plants with gnats

07/12/2002 11:46 AM seppes

I don't really want to use chemicals in the house, so if anyone has a tried and true method of getting rid of gnats in the indoor plants without the use of them, please let me know. I have tried some homemade remedies, but to no avail. It seems like no matter what soil I purchase, gnats are breeding in it. The latest trick I tried today is black pepper. I have tons of indoor plants and will one day be carried off by a giant gnat. I live in the Houston area which may or may not be the reason for this problem.
