Well here is another newbie question.
We installed tile in our kitchen and now plan to install new baseboards over it. When we removed the old baseboards there were these loose 3 inch long 1/2 by 1/2 inch square pieces of wood spaced every so often under the drywall. Most of these were space at or near where the old boards were nailed in.
Does anyone know what these are for and should I put them back when we install the new baseboards? If so does the spacing/location matter?
My guess is that they are for providing support for the baseboards. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks to all in advance.
