Insuladd A Scam That Bob Vila Supports?

01/16/2008 01:43 PM thegasman

I am disappointed to see that this website accepts advertisements from Insuladd. A ceramic additive for house paints that makes outlandish claims of energy savings.

In 2002 I wrote an article on this product and was naturally attacked for my views which not only questioned Insuladd's claims of saving consumers "up to 40% on their energy bills", but came out and called their advertisements a scam.

Six years later, I see they are advertising on Bob Vila's website and their claim is 20% plus in energy savings.

However, in May of 2007, Washington State University published a truly unbiased report which fully supports my position from 2002.

Their report may be viewed at:

Now I have to wonder will Bob Vila continue to risk his reputation as a trusted home renovation expert for the sake of income from an advertisement from Insuladd?
