Insulate a porch

03/13/2008 05:20 AM jaysmama

I have a front porch I screened in years ago -
I constructed a framework with 2x4's to attach the screening - and a door jam with a storm door...
The existing concrete floor directly on ground level I carpeted with indoor/outdoor carpeting...
I added clear plastic corrugated roofing sheets over the screening which blocks out the rain and wind... In the summer I just lift a portion on 2 ends for cross ventilation...
I would like to know if I can insulate this sufficiently to attain a 50 degree temp so I can use the 'room' in the winter for right now it is just 3 seasons...
This is a rental - I have the landlord's permission but since I don't 'own' the property I want to do this inexpensively -I'm on a very tight budget and fixed income...
If I could insulate enough to achieve 50 degrees in winter - I'd be happy - can anyone help me?
