Jenn-Air or GE

10/21/2002 01:34 PM ACD

Going to be installing a slide-in range in the near future and am considering either the Jenn-Air or the GE unit. Going all electric for the convenience of swappable modules. Both models are downdraft and both have al the same features.

My question is has anyone had experience with either of these, want to get a feel as to which would be a better unit. The pricing is very close so cost is not part of the equation.

Jenn-Air or GE

GE or Jenn-air hmmmm. I've been fixin appliances now for 27 years. Its been my opinion that the only thing GE makes well is a stove or microwave. Jenns had and still may have a very large and expensive electronic board in the back of the range. They have had trouble in the past, but haven't replaced any recently. Jenn aire is now owned by Maytag. I have had numerous problems with the oven sensors. If it were mine I'd go with the GE
