Kenmore 70 Series - Lid Switch Repair

02/14/2008 11:38 AM EMBrubaker

I recently purchased a used 4-5 year old Kenmore 70 series washer (model/serial below) and discovered it won't progress through the rinse/drain cycle. After some investigation, I found the lid switch had broken off the screws and was dangling below the housing. I was able to pull it up and manaully depress the switch to drain the tub, but now need to replace the switch.

My question is what's the easiest way to remove the housing to access and replace the switch? Now that I have the problem idetified I hate to spend $100+ to have someone out to fix it!

Model: 110. 20702 991
Serial: CL0634834
Type: 111

Thanks for any help you can provide.
