I am sorry I have created confusion. Can one post be deleted?
The motor does run when the wash is on. In the troubleshooting guide of the manual, it states that if there is a grinding noise, it should stop when the object is ground up. How long should I let it do that? I am looking at a diagram on-line of the parts of my dishwasher. See link:

It does have a chopper kit #19 so I thought I would have a look see, but I am having difficulty removing the screw #12 from the impeller #11.
That doesn't address the water not draining though. Whould it be worth a try to replace the check valve and then see if the grinding goes away by itself? Wouldn't the check valve be accessed from underneath? |
