The model number is: 41744052500
My washer will not work. It will not spin and their is no water when attemping to use washer even though the water lines are open to supply water to the washer. Any ideas?
Hello Dan,
No cold or hot water will enter the washer and it will not spin or agitate. Yes I've tried different temp. setting and it still does not work.
Sincerely

** [Kenmore front load washer] model number 417.44052500 **
That model was built for Sears by Frigidaire.
** No cold or hot water will enter the washer and it will not spin or agitate. **
So it doesn't do anything at all? Are you certain power is getting to the appliance??

Yes, it has power because the front panel lights change when you press the buttons. |

** the front panel lights change when you press the buttons. **
So it does do something.
A problem in the door latch switch or the controls could prevent the machine from operating but still allow the controls to respond to inputs.
Those front-load washer models can be pretty complicated to service and diagnose. The service manual for the equivalent Frigidaire washer model (see the following link) might help with diagnosing yours if you really wanted to attempt to find the problem your self.

Otherwise calling for service might be necessary if you're unfamiliar with working on such machines. :(

** Control board went bad **
Glad to hear you got to the bottom of the problem. Too bad it was one of the more expensive parts of the washer. Such is life with these electronically controlled appliances. :(

** recommend others to get a Sears technician if they have this type of washer **
For 417... Kenmore models a Frigidaire technician could be an option as well as that is whom actually made the product for Sears. They should be very familiar with the product.
** or get a home warrenty plan for appliances **
You might not be able to get the proper service with a 'whole home' warranty plan. I suggest an extended warranty from the appliance manufacturer them self... for just about any electronically controlled appliance model.
