Kenmore dishwasher installation questions

12/12/2004 07:28 PM cdudgeon

I am trying to install a new kenmore dishwasher. I have two problems. First I don't know what the thread size of 90 deg. fitting that screwes into the unit is. Sesond I need a longer drain hose run than what is supplied with the unit. I have bought a 7/8 inside dia. hose that will plug into a garbage disposal. But I can't find any 7/8 inch fittings to hook it up to the dishwasher. Thanks.

Hi,

**First I don't know what the thread size of 90 deg. fitting that screwes into the unit is**

For the fill valve? If yes, it is a 3/8" pipe thread by 3/8" compression 90º fitting.

**Sesond I need a longer drain hose run than what is supplied with the unit.**

Often 5/8" heater hose works well for us.

I use plastic connectors from local hardware store.

**new kenmore dishwasher**

What is the model#?

Some model# helps.

d/w

Hi,

I checked to see if they offered an extention kit for the d/w's....doesn't appear so....take in your drain hose to local hardware store and ask for a coupler/connector to fit from the hose that came with the d/w to the one you bought....and a couple of screw clamps.
