Numerous products can off-gas following a kitchen renovation. Adhesives, plywood and particleboard (cabinets), and finishes all potentially emit low amounts of solvent, including urea formaldehyde (sounds like your case). Keeping the area ventilated until the off-gassing stops is the easiest and least expensive way to deal with this. I would expect that within 30 days, you should notice a significant reduction in fumes. Since you have not identified a source, it is not likely something you can treat. I would guess the odor is strongest inside the cabinets? |
