My family and I are getting ready to build a house, I purchased black/gray laminate tile for the kitchen/dining area and I purchased light cherry laminate flooring for our living room. These 2 rooms are open to one another. How can I lay both of these colors of flooring to make it look good?

by following the manufacturers specific installation instructions to the letter.

also follow manufacturer specifications for required subfloor height tolerances.

each manufacturer has very exact and specific guidelines for exisitng subfloor conditions and installation requirements and specifications.

Obviously, you want to lay the floors according to the manufacturers specifications. Other than that, just make sure that you separate the floors in the correct spot. Divide the floors midway in the adjoining doorways, and use a T-mold to match the cherry floor. They probably offer a t-mold for the tile laminate, but the stone and tile transitions never look realistic. Good luck.
