I have a 24 foot AG pool, installed 8/99. Last fall, I noticed ground wetness all around the base. Further investigation revealed many pinholes in the liner(too many to count) within a foot or so of the wall around the entire circumference of the pool bottom. Needless to say, I lose a lot of water, about an inch or 2 a week until enough swimming and plant/tree debris accumulates to plug 'em up. The pool was installed professionally. I hope someone can answer 2 questions for me: 1. I suspect that the liner is being attacked by critters, but if so... what, and / or what else could be causing this? I live in east Tennessee which is typically very wet in spring, and very dry towards the end of summer. Soil is clay based, but the liner sits on a sand base. No sharp objects are ever introduced into the pool, and it is hand vacumed. 2. Does anyone have any experience with any of the liquid leak fixers on the market that are poured into the pool, get suctioned to the leak by the leaking action, and plug it (supposedly)? Could save my otherwise perfect liner.

The pinholes may arise due to the clay soil being dry and wet. This pushes and pulls a lot. A liner is made from for instance polyethylene or pvc. The materials may have this tendency, due to weight of water and dry and wet soil.
