Leaky faucet for washer & dryer

02/21/2000 05:02 PM Learning

The faucet for the washer & dryer is leaky
and needs to be replaced. In trying to
remove them, it appears to be soldered on.
Is this common? Hold do I remove them?

Leaky faucet for washer & dryer

Hi Learning, yes it is quite common for plumbing to be soldered at joints. But you shouldn't need to replace the entire faucet anyway (unless it is cracked), what you probably need to do is replace some washers/o-rings. Here's a handy reference that should help Leaking Faucets. While the faucet shown is different from what you're dealing with, the principles will remain the same. Good luck!
