over a lifetime, a Fypon Railing system can easily be less expensive than many alternatives, because you won't be repacing and repairing it every ten years or so due to rotting wood. I work on high end custom jobs and sometimes use Red cedar to mill my own. It runs about the same cost installed but has a higher painting cost after the carpentry is done.
