Lumpy Spackle On Ceiling

06/13/2005 03:00 PM paynow1

Hey guys. This is going to sound dumb, and as you will be able to tell, I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination.

I attempted to repair some hairline cracks on my ceiling, and now have large strips of lumpy spackle running across the ceiling, which I painted over. They look awful. Well, there aren't any more cracks at least.

Bottom line is that I need to get the ceiling smooth. I'm looking for a fast, inexpensive way to do so and am open to suggestions.

I live in an apartment complex with a nutty landlord and my lease is soon going to be up for renewal. They do a pre-renewal apartment inspection and to put it bluntly, this person is insane. Among other things, I don't want them charging me to fix this mess, or trying to get me to accept a new paint job, which I won't let them do until I'm out of here.(its a studio and its way too much of a hassle) Or worse, they're the type that will try to use it to get you out over something stupid so they can raise the rent for a new tenant.

Thanks for in advance for any help.
