Masonite Stucco Outdoor Paneling

06/01/1999 12:53 AM

My home in Ohio was built in 1983 and is a tri-level home composed of part brick and Masonite Outdoor Paneling. The Masonite siding is rotting badly and my major concern is ... is the moisture that is trapped behind the Masonite causing any damage to the frmaeing of the home? I replaced a door jam and was awe strucked when I discovered that the 2x4 framing around the door was rotted badly. The Masonite siding had trapped the moisture around the door and caused the rotting to occure. I am concerned about the rest of my home. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience to share with me about my situation?? I can be reached at buckeyeboy@earthlink.net. Thanks!!
