I accidently put a hole in my dining room wall, and I figured out how to fix the hole. But how do I match the paint color, since I don't know exactly what color it is?

Take a piece of the broken wall with paint on it and most paint places, including the big 'boxes', will be able to closely match it. Plan to paint the entire wall since no one can insure a perfect match.
