Mercier prefinished hardwood floors

11/06/2003 07:59 PM woodys

I recently installed 1300 sq ft of the flooring. The wood was "seasoned" and a vapor barrier installed. At present at least 90 boards have cracked. The installer has attempted to replace some of the boards but the floor looks worse. What can I do?

Something is terribly wrong with the installation or the floor, or the material.
What was there before?
I would check installation first. Find out the manufacturers recommendations for installing the product and make sure it was followed.

first question...how long was the wood in the room(s) before it was installed?hard wood must be at room temp.for a week at least.......if this was done, then you need the mgf's rep to inspect the floor, and replace it under the warrenty....good luck

Hello, I know your post is quite old, but I'm having the same problem with my Mercier floor and I'm just wondering how you made out.
