Muriatic Acid Stain on Brick Wall

03/03/2003 04:51 PM renaenyc

We are remodeling an old apartment in New York and decided to expose one of the brick walls. Our contractor used muriatic acid to clean the wall and it is now black. He is stating there is nothing else he can do. From my research it appears the blackness is an acid burn from improperly using the muriatic acid. Is there anyway to salvage the wall?
