Our house that was built in 1980. At that time, the builder installed octagonal ceramic tile in the living areas (bedrooms are carpet) in a very deep mahogany (almost brown) color.

Our furniture is mostly wood, medium to dark tones (read honey oak to walnut). LR Couch is a white sectional, and two other couches and a papa bear chair that I have temporarily covered with throws (read, will get re-upholstered eventually)

How or what colors would be appropriate to use on the walls, getting away from the standard white/eggshell/linen as I want to have a warm feel without it being too dark.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
