My house was built in 1929 with cedar shingle siding. We recently had a nasty ice storm and a tree limb fell on Ma Bell's phone lines. They were attached to the house in such a fashion that the lines literally ripped off a significant portion of one side of my house all the way down to studs, plaster and lathe. Two approximately 20' long rows of the shingles were almost all completely rendered useless by this disaster. Now, I need replacements BAD! Where do you find these older style shingles? There is no way current production will work - it would look absolutely hideous. HELP! |

What do they look like? are they split, sawn, decorative, brushed? Take one to a lumber yard (NOT BIG BOX STORE!) and ask if they can match it |

One other thought. Installers of new siding might tear off old siding like that and trash it. You could talk to some installers and tell them what you're looking for. They just might have some or know of some you could have. |
