My wife was looking at new electric ranges today. What are the advantages or disadvantages of the ceramic flat top type compared to the conventional type?

Ceramic tops hehehe gotta love the money they bring to the repair buisness. Hard to keep clean. Very expensive to replace. Have to have perfectly flat pans. Can't spill sugar on em when hot. If ya like to clean then smooth tops are for you
