T Chisel,

Just wanted to say hello and say that I really enjoy your podcasts and work.

Your work on the Bombe is definitely inspirational. Congratulations on completing it!

I also think that discussion regarding a forum project sounds interesting. I'd certainly be inclined to participate.

Seems like folks are showing some of their work here...I recently embarked on my first period-type piece so, I thought I'd attach an in-process picture. It's been a fun project and I've been blogging about it along the way.

Thanks again for your great podcasts!

T Chisel,

Thanks for the welcome and comments on the Queen Anne piece.

I definitely have an appreciation for the period and also for the level of design and craftsmanship that those doing this then had. Especially using mainly hand tools.

That is a drawer on the table not a panel (some pics and documentation at my blog). Given that I don't do dovetails every day doing half-blinds on a lipped drawer was challenging. It turned out OK - let's say it shows that it's hand cut!

I've been working on the edge treatment of the top and starting the finishing process. I'll post a completed picture when it's done.

Thanks again.

Mark,

Where did you get the pattern for those legs they look perfect.....I have been trying to find patterns for something like that for quite ahwile with out much luck....did you design them yourself or trace from an original?

entire piece is very nice.

Thanks,

Legs...

Keith,

This table is actually based on a design done by Glen Huey in Popular Woodworking several years ago.

I took a shot at laying out the legs first and then discovered that there was a pattern that could be downloaded from Popular Woodworking. Believe it or not, my first attempts were fairly close. Once you have the general dimensions and some flowing curves at the knee, toe and heel, then it's just straight lines connecting them.

Mark,
That is a cool little lowboy, I have never seen one before with just one drawer.
