Image for: OK...OK...

This a walnut desk I did this summer. Its out of solid walnut with ash as the secondary wood. And yes the back is also solid walnut panels. The nice part of it all is the walnut is all from trees I cut and dried myself. It was fun taking from tree to finished product.

You happy now:)

Thanks,
Rick

Thanks "T" for the nice comments. Coming from you that means a lot. I have really enjoyed your videos. They are informative and enjoyable.I'm planning on making an early American secretary soon, so I have been keenly interested in your project.

BTW is that an English accent you have :)

Choosing wood

Rick that is SWWWEEEET! I understand grain and having it move thru the piece. (which you did very well, Rick). But, Tommy, can you at some point get into the design process and choosing the right boards or veneer for a piece?

hey....as soon as i can get out from under the bombe .....i need to take a vacation and the i can focus on the future....so if you guys have something in mind that will make the show more geared to you guys ....let me know...that is 1/2 the reason we made the board.....i'm thinking a smaller project...maybe 2 or 3 throughout the year and at the same time starting a how-2 library of content of guys at all levels..

Don't dumb it down too much.

Tommy, your show is awesome because you're showing how to do to approach the operations that make a piece stand out.
Please don't dumb it down too much. I'm
almost ready to start making things and I have no desire to go too simple. Hell, I'm already 44 and I want to be considered a master by my peers by the time I'm an old ****. So, I can't waste too much time on anything not challenging. I'm hoping you show more sculpting, bending, veneering..anything you can pass on from your education at NBSS. Thanks for the show, so far. It's great!
