Hey Guys,
Nothing like some kicka$$ stock to get me really into this crazy leg table!.... Ya, so I got my veneers today and also splurged for an absolutely killer piece of curly maple....
I'm trying to catch up, hopefully it will look like a table by the end of the weekend.
Great work on all of your tables guys, I apologize for not posting very much.... I'm rockin' right along now so hopefully there will be more to follow.
Have a Great Weekend T-Chiz fans... thanks for looking

That curly looks great. Did you end up getting it from exotic woods?

hey Rob,
I got the maple from them in Burlington. It's one of the pieces they have that's been roasted.... I figured, hey why not?.... when I bought the 8/4 piece of walnut I needed for the legs I saw someone buying a few pieces of this maple, but it had been finish sanded at the shop.... it looked killer. The satinwood veneer is kinda cool as well, I got the 2 thicknesses of holly and some black stuff too.
Maybe I'll drop you an e-mail, Tommy was telling me that he thinks you aren't very far away from me.
I wonder if the board will look as nice as Eli's table - it had some crazy figure to it.... good job Eli
take it easy

Ya, exotic woods is great, they have lots of material. I found another sweet place in Cambridge last weekend call A&M Wood, you should check it out for sure. They have a pretty huge selection of veneer and their SA mahogany looked darker.
I live in Milton, so you may be close by. |

cool Rob,
Never been to A&M, but I've been meaning to stop in, the contractor I work for is based out of Cambridge, so I'm always in the area.... I've heard they have lots of piles of veneer.... layers of consecutive cuts, all bookmatchable ( is that a word?)
I live between Paris and Woodstock out in the boonies...
the guys at Exotic Woods are really nice and helpful, I like spending money there.... as far as other normal lumber, I usually go to Townsend Lumber near Tillsonburg, or to a private guy in that area - he has good prices
later

Now you've been working out......go easy....use the table saw when cutting to length not cracking 8/4 over your knee, you might get a wobble in the table. |

Dude.... I'm getting so huge I'd just have to look at that veneer and it would stay stuck in place forever... haha |
