Old home

I am looking at an old house that has floors that sag about 8-12" on all the outside walls. I know it is the foundation but it is a 2 storie home that has been added onto. Half the hous is stone the othe half is mixed slab and suspended floor. How can I level this house. The owner said it was this bad 20 years ago when he bought it. Should I just work with covering it up cosmetically or is there a way to level it?
