PERGO FLOORS

04/06/1999 11:56 AM

I am considering installing Pergo floors in my foyer. I am curious to know if it truly is a do-it-yourself project and how difficult it is to install or is it best to just have a professional install it?

PERGO FLOORS

We recently had Pergo flooring installed in our spare bedroom by a professional. He used a series of strap/clamps to get the tightest possible mating of the pieces together. After watching him install the floor I'd be willing to try it myself (without the clamps) using a small piece of scrap wood and a rubber mallet. While watching the installer he informed me that the most important thing in installing the floors was to offset the boards to avoid any appearance of seams.

If you live near a Home Depot store they have weekly classes that will show you how to install these yourself.
