Painting over an acrylic mural

09/26/2001 03:49 PM momof3

Help! I would like to paint an entire room that has a mural done with acrylic paint. What are should I do to ensure the new wall color/paint covers and seals the mural so it doesn't peel or show through.

Thanks!

Painting over an acrylic mural

First wash the walls , then wash the walls with a deglosser, let dry. Prime with a quality stain blocker primer, this may require 2 coats, if you are painting with a vibrant color (not pastel) tint the primer.
