My neighborhood has attracted many families with youngsters. Stretching behind the homes is a small greenway that has become the neighborhood football/soccer/baseball field. Of course, my sliding patio doors with their two huge panes of unprotected glass face this play area. Can anyone offer any suggestions as to how I can protect my patio doors from flying baseballs, footballs, soccer balls, and who knows what else may come flying at them? Because I don’t have a deck, the patio doors are rarely opened. But I can’t simply pull them out and seal the opening. Anything that would get past the city building inspector would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't know how much strenght that they add to the glass. But it will add some. And if the glass does break it holds the glass together.
