I'm thinking about building a platform deck in my backyard but am unsure if it is a good idea given New England winters. Since the foundation blocks sit on top of the soil, I'm wondering is the ground freezing/heaving will impact the deck. Will I end up with an uneven deck after a year or will it be fine? Does anyone have any experience with this?
