Hey Man, you must be near me somewhere... I live near Woodstock... I was checking out their website.... do you think I should get the mahogany there?.... I still would need 8/4 walnut, so I have to buy something....
Rob, are you buying your veneer from them as well? ... I am driving by that place on the QEW almost everyday.
thanks,

Chizze,
Still waiting for some item to arrive in by delivery (ie. internet order on the gouges, and vereer package). However, I will review your podcast serveral times before cutting anything so that I will have a good understanding to the procedures.
The group did not response to your request about the grain issue for the legs. I assume they have no opinion. If that is the case I will assume not to worry about it.

Darn, I guess I did good, my 4/4 was 7.25 a bf and the 8/4 was 7.75 a bf. Mine is Honduras Mahogany as well. The only thing I am waiting for are my veneers.

So cool........for this to be happening.
Hey Chizz.....yeah MaHoggy was a pain in the _ss to get, but it was good for me to do it. It's been a while since I've worked in it and now I've got more in stock than we'll use on Shakey Crazy Leg. That's a good thing.
Also......seems it doesn't matter what part of the world, purchasing Mahoggy is "different" then other woods but also, "the same". Hey Chuck, I had to buy the available BF also, and this place didn't cut and wouldn't allow cutting on their premises. SOLUTION...picked out the prettiest boards and some extra, asked where a hardware store was, left to buy a cheap handsaw, came back loaded my van with 6ft sticking out the _ss-end of my van, drove off, pulled over, and on the shoulder of a main throughfare, cut my boards to fit in the van and drove off.....I'm teliing you though, I was annoyed enough to pick and pick and when they thought I was done, pick some more,....I got me some lumber!!! and a new permanent handsaw for my van.
As for group opinion on leg grain, I do look at my rough stock (specific to each species), but it is not the final determining factor for me, if its there I take it, if its alot of waste, once rough cut, I pick my best leg blanks based off of predicted site-line of finished project, best face in front, I'm thinking a bit about the bellflower leg, but will make my decision based off of rough cut blanks when I get there.
Guys......I'm telling ya, this is gonna be great!!!! T-Mac seems to have loaded us with all kinds of "new stuff". Love having shared forum discussion, its very different in Chizz's House then elsewhere. Can't wait to see what comes up during the build. Obviously alot of knowledge hanging around. I'm expecting some good transferr of knowledge over the build.

Tommy,
The drawer looks cool...it looks like you have two different wood veneers. I only ordered what was given to Ben.
