You may find its easier, to add an addition to the home with a kitchen and bathroom, than to try and break up floors or raise the home. The cost would be similar and no real distruction to the home would occur, other than at the point where the home and the addition connect. You could even add and addition to the master bedroom, which would include walk in closet and master bath. Slab on grade homes are easy to add on to.
