Porches

03/20/2000 10:59 AM Danforth99

I've found it tough to find stuff for open air porches on the Net. What I'm looking to do is replace my old, concrete porch with a larger, wood porch. Should I use concrete or bricks as the deck support, or should I just use 4x4 supports set in concrete? I'm also going to have trouble with the roof of the porch, due to the angle of the house's roof. what's the best way to approach that?

Porches

I will be doing a similar project this spring, the way I am doing mine, which is about 5 feet off of the ground, is I am setting 4x4 treated posts in cement. These posts will run the whole way to the roof, which they will also support. If you give me more infomation on how you want your roof to look, I might be able to help a little more. You can email me directly at stifflej@ctc.com
