Progress report request

04/12/2008 03:57 PM CMiddleton

Hey everyone...I think we are getting a little spread out. May I suggest that everyone post a picture of their work on Sunday (April 13) to let Tommy and everyone know where they are on the project.

Paul...great question on the applied foot, I wasn't sure if the foot was miter or not. I suspected it was not, but I was not certain. Sounds like you have really caught up quickly.

Here is my crazy leg table as of today. I am happy with everything, except for the spade foot leg. My experience with the jig was that it was difficult not to cut the jig and next time I would clamp the leg into the jig and actually mark the tapers on each leg. I kept an eye on the bottom of the jig and the bandsaw blade. Also, I used a pattern router bit...again it would have been better with a 1/2" two flute straight cut bit with top bearing.

Hey chuck,

Legs on your table look great. I too came close to cutting my jig a few times. Are you going to work on the stringing next?

Well, I am happy to report, I think I got an "B+" so far. There are some little flaws but it seem to be all stuff you are really going to have to be looking for to really see them. Tommy, Al,(the Pin up boy for us woodworkers),Eli, and Brian, Thanks for all the help. This little table has been such a blast. Learning new things and just having fun while doing it, Then you see the results. Man, it makes all this time worth while for sure. So here it is my table. Had some fun with the banding on the applied foot as well.

Looking good.

Great job, guys. I like the twisted stringing on the back, Justin. Very cool.

I almost nailed my jig a few times, too. It's ok to stay a little further off the line. You're just clearing the waste away to help the router. Keep the pictures coming guys. Great thread idea, Chuck.

Like old Chiz told us, stay in the lines.

All I did was make the same loop on the top then just spread out the tremals a little and made arcs. I just made sure they stayed in the lines and that they meant on the center line. The lop at the bottom was the hardest. I had to free hand that because the tremals would not go that close together. Its not that hard really.

Eli, everyone else thanks. So lets see the rest of your guys Tables
