Anyways, I made the applied moulding leg this morning. I know you don't really like it T, but I think it looks sweet.

coming up big!!!!

Hey Guys!

These tables are looking really nice!!

Neil, I also think big-T is proud of the gang!!!
and I'm going to have a hard (great) time keeping up the nice job ;)

Big-T, did you see that I'm going "unplugged" on the crazy table?
Do you have an idea of how much time it would increase with respect to using machines?

unplugged

this is a good question...i think you can do this in under 200 hrs with no power....are you going to use a cordless drill for the mortises or..perhaps a bit brace ...i hope you have a good sharp bow saw or a rip and crosscut ....i think once you get the parts cut out and shaped ..thats all the work...getting the parts all set for the glue up....i would think about doing just the 90 taper i am sure no one would think less of your desire to do this project...i in fact commend your effort!!!........all the other stuff is all done by hand anyway....oh...how are you going to heat the sand....wood stove??..good luck and keep your tools SHAAARP!

stringing

Hey guys,

To do the stringing I made that scratch stock out of two pieces of wood (Tmac posted a thread on how to make it). Then I used an old reciprecating saw blade and grinded a tip on it the same size as the stringing (obviously). It took me a few trys the get the right width. Then I just scratched the two straight lines 3/16" in from each side.

top arc

I didn't have a pair of trammels handy, so I made this little jig for scratching the arc. It's just a piece of walnut with a nail in one side and a slot for the scratch in the other.

All I did was find the centre point on the leg and adjusted the scratch so that it hit both grooves. Thats it!

If any of you are new to stinging, which I am, you gotta try this!
