Protecting exterior plywood from hot sun.

05/12/2003 04:55 PM john b

I have a cabin in the California desert where it can be very hot and dry in the summer. Currently, the exterior walls are plywood with several coats of quality exterior paint on them. Yet still the plywood is aging and cracking. I want to keep the plywood look. Is there anything I can use other than paint to protect the wood and fill the cracks?
