Queen box spring

10/28/2007 01:27 AM BevieS

My daughter just moved into her first home. It was built in 1946. We were able to get her mattress up the stairs, but not the box spring. Her bed is only a year old and would rather not buy a new box spring. I have heard that it's possible to modify the box spring -- split it and then bracket it back together after getting it up the stairs. Is this possible? If so, how would we do it? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

"Split" box spring

I tried googling "split box spring" and came up with some interesting links....(including the one below). It probably won't answer your question, but it might rule out an option or two :-) good luck
