Question About bathroom

03/19/2005 04:17 PM TomR1972

This is probably a dumb question and in the wrong area, please dont be offended! The vanity is 48" wide and I am going to be putting a bar style light above the mirror over the vanity. What length bar light is standard for that size of a vanity? If the bar light i like is to short can i put two side by side?

Thanks in advance,

Tom R

...bathroom lighting....

Hey there TomR,

Not really much help, probably, but here goes anyway. I just checked our bathroom; the mirror is 60" and there are two 32" bar lights (each with 5 lamps--I guess 25 or 40w) above it. The bar lights are the original 1980s brass-n-glass (OK, I know, they're ugly), but I can tell you that they throw plenty of light.

So none of this is exactly "Scientific", but I bet you'd be OK if you scaled down accordingly.

Regards,

Tghe light is related more to the mirror than to the vanity size.
