Insulation R-factor in cement blocks

R-Factor in 8" cement block

Talking to 4D brick company, (an Oldcastle company) they said the R-Factor is 2.9 in a block with open air space, now if you fill that space with insulation, it would be equivlant to an R-13 stick built wall.
