Removing musty smell from wood furniture

09/28/2006 06:25 PM somewhereintime

Can anyone tell me how to remove musty smell from wood furniture, especially drawers. I buy alot of old furniture and have had this problem more than once.

Thanks,
Cheryl

A wash down with denatured alcohol, then let dry.

Follow with a coat of shellac that will seal in most odors.

There are more elaborate techniques, but this is one I've used.
