If it's a jacuzzi pump motor, you can easily just buy a 240V model if you wish. Baldor and others make them. I believe motors to run water pumps with that pressure are 240V by nature.

The transformer would be to convert 120V to 240V or vice-versa, but would not change the frequency.

Regarding the frequency, I don't think that running the pump at 50Hz would do much except slow it down, since almost all large A/C motors are just two-field straight wires with an armature. Going from 60Hz to 50Hz would mean that the motor would run about 17% slower at each setting (low, med, etc.).

That might cause a problem if you need that speed to create the pressure, but that's not that much of a drop. However, just to be sure, I'd write a letter or email to a jacuzzi motor company and ask them. They'd be the experts.
