People have been telling me that you can use a Roto Zip power tool in place of a scroll saw for most projects. Projects can be completed faster. Is this true?

I've got noyjing but good to say about the roto-zip. The key word is practice. Alot. Follow the same use rules as with a router.

I got sucked into the ads on tv for the rotozip and bought one about 2 years ago...i think its the worse tool i ever bought....DO NOT buy one..the blades break easily,its to fast and jerky...
To some it up, it's crap.....

the rotozip can be used to replace a jig saw to a certain extent...it works great for cutting drywall, tile, and any wood surface up to about 1/2-3/4" thick (despite rotozip saying it can go up to 1")...

so if all you plan on doing is light cutting in wood...or using it for tile and drywall go ahead and buy the rotozip but it really can't totally replace a good jigsaw...

also if you do get the rotozip be sure to get the flex shaft attatchment that is brand new on the market...this way you can use it like a dremel rotary tool
